I-NAV was invited to attend the ADAS and autonomous driving forum to share the hybrid fiber optic inertial navigation solution

2022-11-16

On November 16, 2022, the 6th ADAS and Autonomous Driving Forum hosted by Zuos Auto Research/Messe München was grandly held in Hall 4 of Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center (Baoan New Hall). Participants had in-depth sharing and exchanges on topics such as software and hardware innovation, future opportunities and challenges under the development trend of automotive autonomous driving. Yuan Bin,  CTO of I-NAV was invited to attend this forum and delivered a speech entitled "Hybrid Optical Fiber Inertial Navigation Solution Based on Advanced Intelligent Driving" "The wonderful sharing has attracted wide attention from the guests.

In his speech, Yuan Bin shared I-NAV's profound insights and innovative practices in the field of high-precision integrated navigation and positioning, reflecting the industry's competitive advantages of I-NAV in the field of high-precision positioning and navigation services.

Yuan Bin said that there are currently two major pain points in the positioning of autonomous driving. One is position drift. In environments such as urban canyons and elevated roads, satellite signals are blocked or interfered, which will cause drift of positioning points; Satellite signal areas (underground parking lots, tunnels, etc.) have low satellite positioning accuracy and even form positioning blind spots, resulting in large errors. Due to the advantages and disadvantages of a single positioning scheme, in order to maximize the security of the system, satellite-habitual combined positioning (GNSS+IMU) is a widely used high-precision positioning scheme at this stage.

At present, the MEMS inertial navigation commonly used in L3 smart driving cars has a gyro bias repeatability of about 10°/h. Less than 1°/h), MEMS gyroscopes cannot achieve such accuracy in the short term. Although the three-axis optical fiber IMU solution can meet the requirements of L4 for high-precision positioning, the cost is too high to meet the cost requirements of mass production and on-board vehicles. How to solve the pain point that the cost and accuracy of the vehicle-level integrated navigation and positioning system cannot be balanced has become a difficult problem facing the industry.

Yuan Bin introduced that I-NAV will create the world's first car-grade hybrid fiber optic inertial navigation positioning system in 2022. The Y-axis continues to use the MEMS gyroscope, so as to ensure that the car is always driving on the predetermined track no matter what extreme road conditions it encounters during automatic driving, ensuring driving safety and filling the gap in the cost and accuracy of the domestic car-grade fiber-optic hybrid inertial navigation system . This is a brand-new solution brought by I-NAV to the intelligent driving industry. At present, this product has entered the stage of on-board testing in many car companies and autonomous driving solution providers.

At the end of the sharing, Yuan Bin introduced the basic situation of I-NAV to the guests. I-NAV was established on February 25, 2022.
